Our Curriculum
Through our years of experience and drawing upon research, we know that children’s potential for learning is maximised when they are deeply and completely engaged in play and can demonstrate a sense of belonging. We have created a bespoke curriculum at pre school that is underpinned by Birth to Five Matters and the Early Years Statutory Framework and supported by the influences of several early childhood theorists including Maslow and the hierarchy of needs, Bowlby's attachment theories and Vygotsky's scaffolding ethos.
At the centre of our curriculum is always the child. Those first few critical years of a child's life must include experiences and attachments to family to be able to further their learning and development in the future.
These include creating a sense of autonomy through making sense of their world, their emotions, valuing their family dynamic and feeling safe and healthy. These are key areas which we believe strongly underpin a solid foundation for further learning and development of a child and the other areas of learning within early years education.
We appreciate that children do not all learn the same way and may display different interests that align themselves with one area of learning more than others. We identify our education and learning at BeBright Pre School as an holistic process and now a one off event. It is our aim at BeBright Pre School to ignite children's imaginations and curiosity so that they shall enjoy self-directed learning and be thoroughly engaged in play. As a result, deep and purposeful learning shall inevitably take place.
Our staff support this learning through a variety of ways that is specific to your child, such as encouraging self directed learning or a more structured approach to include adult led activities that promote that aspirational learning for the children by using enriching vocabulary and highly skilled teachers to adapt and support the learning intention for that child to ensure high expectations for progress and development.
